looking

The last day of August, clear blue skies and hot.
The third day of the Bournemouth Airshow.

Record number of people.   404,00 apparently, although I have no idea
how this could be calculated.   The beaches and cliff tops were crowded,
there was the flotilla of little and big boats in the bay.

the Red Arrows amazed     they left a heart in the sky

I escaped for an hour to Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum,
a mere five  minutes away

and then stepped inside to see the Exhibition 50/50
a joint exhibition by Matthew Harris and his partner
Cleo Mussi, a mosaic artist.   The work is inspired
by their recent trip to Japan

I focused on the textiles which were wonderful

linen cloth dyed and painted

detail of waxed torn papers - mixed media on stitched papers

The exhibition runs until 14 September.  If you are near the
area, it's well worth a visit.

the Grotto was a nice place rest before joining the crowds,
the heat and the incredible flying machines.

If you are reading this Babs, I'm up for another visit!   Didn't have
time to really look at the extraordinary ceramics.
