Always a problem. Blue is good, it sort of unifies everything. I like blue, which helps. On close up there are interesting things going on in the raggy tassels. Indian recycled cloth is over dyed rusty red - fine, although brown dominates. I find that colour spectrum 'difficult'!
Thank you Eva. but believe me when I say it took a good photo. In reality quite faded, it is enriched with the blue. Made as teaching sample, somewhere there is also a little bag in the original colours. I shall have to dive in the cupboard again.
Wow, it never ceases to amaze me how different something looks after overdying. You can barely recognise these as being the same piece. The blue looks wonderful!
You've just solved a problem for me - so busy making quilts I forgot about dyeing and needed ideas on unifying a background! This is really effective. Very belated congratulations on your exhibition - wish I could be there to see it. And thanks for your comments on my blog. Hope to see you later in the year.
The trouble is how to stop! A few little quilts made when I was a baby quilter could do with refreshing, and, possibly chopping up and reassembling as well. Nothing is safe!
Hi Clare, It's not indigo I'm afraid. The temperature still a tad cold. Technical information - royal blue dye left over from workshop, which didn't quite do the job. Dyed again in the odd mix bottle. That worked!
