Earlier this year I treated myself to a Batik
Wax Pot. This week was time to get down
to business. The recycled shirts have been
dyed, over dyed and the final process,
a touch of batik.
Here's one block, free cut and pieced.
Ages since I've gathered a large selection
of oddments and recycled fabrics. What
initially seems a huge pile quickly becomes
small. I have a feeling I am going to have
another forage today for more plain shirts,
old pillow cases etc.

This is great fun. Now batching more recycled cloth for stitching tomorrow. Hope there is enough to finish a good size quilt - if not, there might be a little searching in a certain person's wardrobe!
Very inspirational. Makes me want to gather all my oddments and do something creative with them. I bought a set of batik tjanting from Yogyakarta when I was there this year. I must use them!
Are you using soy wax? Look forward to seeing what you do with this piece.
I hope you don't get our storm - but this isn't as bad where I live as it is south of here, strangely enough.
Stay warm, have a wonderful Christmas & New Year and I hope we can meet in August when I teach at Festival of Quilts.
I love this. Nothing wasted and so beautiful...
Mellow...dreamy...a place to rest.
LOVE the blue spectrum you're working with!
